FAQs

I have no sewing experience. Can I still join?

Yes. My signature Beginner Sewing Lesson series is designed for sewing newbies. Check out the Beginner Sewing Lessons here.

Do I need a sewing machine?

Yes. It is best for students to learn with their personal sewing machine.

What is a good sewing machine for beginners?

I suggest the Brother LX3817. Learn more about that machine here.

Do I need to bring sewing supplies?

No, unless you want to. Basic sewing supplies and fabrics are included with lessons.

Do you teach adults?

Yes, private lessons are for kids and adults.

What’s the difference between lessons and classes?

“Lessons” are taught 1:1 or with a small group of family or friends. Students meet weekly with the teacher at the Sewing Room in Lawndale. “Classes” are one-time meetings or activities in the community or the Sewing Room with a mixed group of students.

I cannot make it to the upcoming class. Do you teach private lessons?

Yes. Let's chat about your sewing goals! Submit a registration form here.
